5 Critical steps to succeed in Real Estate

Jumping into a real estate career can be an extremely exciting experience.  To be successful in the Real Estate field, it takes a positive mindset, the ability to find a mentor, training, and constant lead generation (not only to become licensed). You will also need some other’s people help, also known as “leverage”.

To succeed in real estate business you need to take at least these 5 critical steps:

  1. Change your minset
  2. Get a mentor
  3. Learning and training continuously
  4. Lead generation
  5. Leverage

Let’s begin describing each of these steps:

Okay, so first of all you need a positive mindset. Without the right mindset it would be very difficult to build a solid foundation for a real state entrepreneur. It is very important to set clear goals and reinforce with positive thoughts all the time. Meeting successful and positive business men will help you to increase your chances of success.

Take the successful people I was talking about earlier, as your mentors. It is lot easier to learn from successful mentors than alone by yourself. Mentors take you by hand on a shortcut and usually you start making money in days or weeks. Of course you have to take baby steps and first of all learn how to fill a purchase agreement or an option to buy contract. These mentors have invaluable experience along with that knowledge and they can build a map to success for you in no time. So you need to learn and train. They basically can build your business in no time over and over again.

Learning and Training

In the real estate investments industry just like in other industries, you must be a person that love to learn new things every single day. Real estate is constantly changing and you need to adapt and grow with the times. By attending great real estate training programs, staying fresh with your education, and really expanding your knowledge base, you will be able to expand your business while you outsmart your competition.

Lead Generation

This is the essence of your real estate business. Without clients, you are going to struggle to sell real estate. Lead generation is very important in order to acquire clients.  You need to learn how to generate leads . If you maintain a constant focus on lead generation, you will not only increase your business, but you will avoid the ups and downs of the real estate income roller coaster. Only that way you create a predictable and scalable income.

Once the previous steps are in motion, you will most likely feel a bit overwhelmed. This is natural when starting a successful business. Things become too much to handle and the day gets shorter. 🙂

At this time, you should look for help and hire an assistant. In most business, including real estate, the first place to look for help is on the administrative side.

If your focus is sales, you don’t want to be kept busy with paperwork. At this time you need an assistant.

An administrative assistant can be one of the best decisions you will ever make for your real estate business.

Remember, when you think about a career in real estate, keep in mind that it is that you get out of it what you put into it.

If you give it your best effort, connect with positive people who can mentor you, and continue to train and learn about the business, then you can look forward to a long, successful career in real estate.

  1. Totally agree. I’ve been struggling for 2 years trying to do everything by myself. Once I got a mentor, he took me by hand and put me on the right track. I started to make money in real estate in the second month. Thank you for reminding me these essential steps.

    1. You are more than welcome George. I have seen so many people struggling. That motivated me to write this post. I hope it helps.

      1. Hi Eloise. Yes. I remember I was blaming my mentor my first month for not being able to close deals. I told him that and he proved that I was wrong. I am very thankful for his patience. Great guy.
